Tetouan

Just wanted to send you all an update.

We are currently in the city of Tetouan and we will be here until we leave for Casablanca on the 23rd. We took a ferry and a taxi to get to the border of Spain and Maroc. We walked across the border and made it through customs with no problems! Praise the Lord! A friend of ours who lives in Maroc came and picked us (it was like 11pm bless his heart) and we stayed at their house for the night so that we didn't have to find a hostel right away. It definitely a relief to have a place to stay!

The following day we went into Tetouan and began on our search to find a hostel which turned out to be a challenge since it’s the last few weeks of vacation for many of people here in Maroc and there just were no rooms anywhere to be found. But the Lord is so faithful and just before we called it quits this little hostel not only had rooms but it was cheaper than any of the other places and had three single beds to a room...which was perfect since there are six of us!!! The Lord is so good!!!

The people of Maroc are so full of life, friendly and extremely hospitable! The streets are loud and busy with all kinds of smells and neat little shops! We have made friends with the maids in the old hostel were are staying in, they had invited us up to their sitting room up on the roof for tea and bread. They are so sweet and fun! They served us the traditional Moroccan mint tea and cornmeal bread. It was so good but kinda hard to drink since its like 100 degrees right now and we are totally covered head to toe! The womens names are Habeeba, Azeeia, Fatima and Fatilia. It was so interesting to sit down and talk with 7them (and because they do not speak or understand English we used our hands and all the Spanish and Arabic we could remember to communicate; it was amazing because we actually could hold a conversation!!!). We played guitar and sang worship songs for them...we also showed them pictures of our families s and friends. They loved it! We have been invited back for a second sitting...we are so excited!!!

The Lord has been really showing me that during this trip so much of the sharing is going to come through our actions and countenance...not so much by our words. They will be touched by Jesus' love through what they see in us and how we treat them! Prayer and worship are going to be the weapons we wage in this nation because though Maroc is so full of life, spiritually it’s dead and there is a great darkness here in this land. It is by prayer and worship that Jesus' light will shine and His presence will be felt by the people. Where light is darkness must flee! So please join with us in prayer over this nation!

A quick update on my traveling buddies. (haha) Everyone is doing well...we are all tired but filled with excitement to see all the doors the Lord continues to open! Please pray for Jacob though, he is very sick with some kind of stomach bug, our friend Bill gave him some antibiotics so hopefully that will kill off anything he has. Trust me being sick in this hostel could never be a comfortable experience! In one word...sqatties!

Thank you all so much for your prayers...continue on for the Lord desires to move much in this nation!!!

Ahava,

Becca
